Day 8 There's a mouse in the house.....maybe more

A couple years ago I found traces of a mouse and had actual sightings of said mouse. Now in my head it's only one but the reality of the situation was there was probably more. I started out with those gummy traps (did I really think I'd pick one up with a mouse attached), then I moved to those snap traps - the mouse stole the bait and left the trap. I hadn't quite figured out how I was going to dispose of the mouse if it were actually caught in it. Finally, I tried the poison. I had it in various places where I'd seen mouse gifts and day after day I'd come home and the poison would be gone. This went on for quite a while and I finally assumed I had won. So one day several weeks into the summer, I open my kitchen junk drawer, start rooting thru it and what did I find? Yea, all the mouse poison! The mouse had moved it from where I had put it out to his own little saving place. I still don't know how he moved it in his mouth and didn't die...... So, all that to get to here. During the fall I noticed little mouse gifts once again. So I go to the store and now I find a trap that was made for a mouse-aphobe like me. You bait it, leave it, the mouse goes inside the trap and SNAP! one dead mouse! The only thing that bothers me is the thought that the trap is probably heavier once the mouse has been caught than it was when I set it. But I have overcome that challenge too, I just use my yardstick and push the trap in my waste basket. I will emerge victorious!

  1. Tonight as I was sitting on the couch, I heard the trap snap shut and sure enough, I caught a mouse! I set out another one, so we shall see! Lorri 1, mouse 0.

  2. You're my hero!! I've told Mr. D. that should I ever see a mouse, I would be at his parents, and he could come and get me when the mouse was gone. Thankfully, ours have all been outside running back and forth between our garage and our neighbors backyard in the summer.
