My parents moved us into the house they still live in in 1963. Our next door neighbors were an older couple whose last name was Stormer. Martha Stormer used to put this Santa in her dining room window every Christmas for me and my two brothers. When she passed away, her son and his wife, Harry & Daisy moved in and Daisy continued with the tradition. When I would go home for Christmas, one of the first things I did, was to go look for the Santa in Daisy's window. It had to be there. One Sunday, about nine years ago or so, my parents came to visit. With them was the Santa. Daisy had given it to them to bring to me. This is one Christmas decoration that does not get put away. Daisy and Harry are gone now but I look at this decoration and it reminds me of my past, our neighbors, all the people who lived on the same street that actually knew each other, people whose door was always open to say "hi" or "borrow a cup of sugar".
